A part from bankruptcy, the 2008 world financial crisis showed a serious lack of ethics in the business world. In one hand profit seeking is not negative in itself, but it can become so when it is ruled by an unrestrained greed, source of injustices through a corruption of legal rules. Therefore, in front of faulty behaviors, beneficial behaviors appeared in ethical guidelines adopted by different major international companies.
The legal adviser is therefore at the crossroad between profit seeking and ethics. That is why International business law should always look for Justice. Indeed, international trade can hardly develop without any reference to ethics which has to inspire all the legal rules applying in this field
