The Department of Literature supports students throughout their studies and in building their professional projects
Department of Literature
• The Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Literature offers a multidisciplinary education combining literature with five specialised minors: Creative Writing, Cultural Careers, Teaching, Societal Issues, and Journalism. In addition, students benefit from an exceptional cultural pathway throughout the three years of the degree thanks to partnerships with Lyon’s leading cultural institutions.
• The University Diploma in Social and Political Studies, preparation for Sciences Po entrance exams, prepares students for first-year admission exams to Institutes of Political Studies (IEP), alongside a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Literature, History, Philosophy, or Law at UCLy.
Studying in the Department of Literature means benefiting from:
• small class sizes and personalised support throughout the programme.
• a high-quality multidisciplinary education exploring various aspects of literature and humanities.
• collaborations with the UCLy Departments of Law, Philosophy, and Human Formation.
• exchange agreements with numerous universities across Europe and around the world, enabling students to spend a semester abroad during their third year of study (Canada, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom, Argentina, South Korea, etc.).
