Assistant Professor / Researcher in Cell and Molecular Biology, with an engineering degree and a PhD from INSA Lyon.
My PhD, carried out at the CarMeN laboratory (Lyon), focused on a nutritional strategy to prevent type 2 diabetes and obesity. In parallel, I contributed to several projects aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance in muscle and adipose tissue, particularly in relation to ozone air pollution, lipid peroxidation derivatives, and specific uremic toxins.
I then developed expertise in Neuroscience as a teaching and research fellow (ATER) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lyon 1, within the BioRaN team, working on the effects of ozone pollution on the brain and on Alzheimer’s disease.
A postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Poitout’s laboratory (Montreal) enabled me to extend my expertise to the pancreatic side of diabetes through the study of insulin secretion and of glucagon- and somatostatin-producing alpha and delta pancreatic cells.
I am currently an Assistant Professor at ESTBB, within Research Unit Group 7, where I collaborate with Axis 3 on a drug-design project aimed at identifying novel therapeutic molecules for hepatocellular carcinoma or other chronic diseases that share similar pathogenic mechanisms, including diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders.
