Supported by a team of specialist lecturers and a network of partners including international and European institutions as well as numerous NGOs in France and abroad, IDHL welcomes around one hundred students from all over the world each year within the Catholic University of Lyon.
One of the key characteristics of IDHL is its intercultural dimension. The Institute welcomes students from France and around the world. International students represent nearly half of the total student body. The courses offered take this diversity into account through the themes explored.
This international dimension is a source of human enrichment and contributes to the quality of the education provided within the Institute. It is also consistent with the Institute’s commitment to remaining attentive to the major challenges facing contemporary global society: globalisation and identity conflicts, violence and reconciliation processes, new development models, and legal ethics.
IDHL benefits from a strong and dynamic alumni network spread across all five continents. Alumni remain highly active in the field of human rights and continue to maintain close ties with the Institute.

L’Institut des Droits de l’Homme de Lyon est composé d’une équipe d’universitaires (Professeurs, Docteurs, Maître de conférences) et de professionnels des Droits de l’Homme en France comme à l’international.
Le réseau Alumni de l’IDHL de l’UCLy représente l’ensemble des anciens étudiants de l’IDHL sans distinction de provenance, de campus, de formation, de promotion et de réussite professionnelle.
