ESTBB

An Engineering School Dedicated to Life Sciences Careers

Founded in 1952 at the initiative of industrial leaders from the Lyon region, the School of Practical Biochemistry became ESTBB in 1971 and was officially recognised by the French State in 1988. Initially, it trained laboratory technicians.

Today, ESTBB offers career-oriented programmes aligned with the needs of industries and laboratories in the fields of biology, biotechnology, and healthcare, thanks to its highly active professional network. More than 70 years after its creation, ESTBB was accredited as an Engineering School in Biotechnology by the CTI (French Engineering Accreditation Commission).

ESTBB is located on the Saint-Paul campus of UCLy in Lyon and on the Alpes Europe campus in Annecy.
