As part of his Regulation of platforms course for the LLM Digital Law and Technology, Dr Andrea Piletta has organized for Prof. Maciej Bernatt, of the University of Warsaw to talk to us on the topic of the pro-democratic role of competition law.
The lecture will examine how market power can put democratic structures under stress and the role that competition law should play to counter these risks. By analysing the mechanisms through which concentrated economic power influences political processes, public discourse, and institutional balance, the lecture aims at enlightening how competition law can amount to a pro-democratic tool in our societies.
