It is about being able to master the concepts and methods of the discipline of International Relations.The course will be focusing on the NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) as one of the rising actors in the international field, aside of the traditional actors such as the state, the international organizations like the UN, and other transnational (non-state) actors.

After presenting the nature and structure of international relations, the existing actors and factors, the course will be focusing on the NGOS as one of the rising actors in the international field, aside of the traditional actors such as the state, the international organizations like the UN, and other transnational (non-state) actors.
The role of NGOs in international institutions such as the United Nations will be analyzed and a special attention will be given to the Council of Europe, the oldest European institution whose specificity is to have raised NGOs as one of the participative pillars of this organization.

The course will try to respond to the following question: what is the place and influence of NGOs in international relations today?
This course aims to allow students to better grasp and understand the complexity of the world. The main objective is to give skills and tools in analyzing International Relations and to be able to discover and define the actors and factors of IR and particularly the role and impact of the NGOs
