Humanities Confluence Research Center was established as a result of the project to bring together different disciplinary fields which, on the one hand, have their own specific features and, on the other hand, allow cross-approaches with regard to <strong>anthropological<\/strong>, <strong>scientific<\/strong> and <strong>social<\/strong> issues:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An approach to cultures, based on a scientific analysis of their different manifestations and interactions.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An approach to individual, social and environmental behaviour from the perspective of the humanities and legal sciences, taking into consideration the question of the meaning they express and convey.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A \"living\" approach based on the study of the impact of environmental factors on biodiversity and health, and on cross-cutting disciplines such as epistemology and ethics.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An approach to religious phenomena, not only from the perspective of critical observation \u2013 historical and sociological \u2013 and from the study of a specific corpus but also through a methodical study of the reasoned discourse that believing communities themselves hold concerning their faith, which constitutes \"theology\" proper.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An approach to how companies integrate social, environmental and ethical concerns into their operations and governance (CSR), and innovation management.<\/li><\/ul><p>The intersection of these different approaches allows a precise multidisciplinary examination of contemporary ethical issues in the different fields in which they arise (environment, intercultural dialogue, ethics in science).<\/p><p>The Sciences &amp; Humanities Confluence Research Center aims to increase the quality and scientific visibility of UCLy and to promote convergence between its <strong>131 teacher-researchers<\/strong>, including 22 HDR and 12 professors from the canonical faculties (<em>Nihil obstat<\/em>) as of 01\/10\/2020.<\/p><p><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8 research teams<\/h2><p>- Research cluster 1: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/theologie-philosophie-sciences-religieuses\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Theology, philosophy and religious sciences<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 2: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/bible-litteratures-cultures-antiques\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Bible, ancient literature and culture<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 3: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/cultures-langue-imaginaire\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Culture(s), language, imagination<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 4: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/education-personne-accompagnement\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Education, people, support<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 5: <strong><a aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/developpement-integral-ecologie-ethique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Integral human development, ecology, ethics<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 6: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/sciences-juridiques-politiques-sociales\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Legal, political and social sciences<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 7:<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/biosciences-technologies-ethique\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biosciences, technologies, ethics<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>- Research cluster 8: <strong><a aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/les-8-poles-de-recherche\/sustainable-business-organizations-entreprises-organisations-durables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainable business and organisations<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Journals<\/h2><p>Two journals contribute to UCLy's influence. The RU relies, among others, on them to report on its work.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/publications\/theophilyon\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Th\u00e9ophilyon<\/a><\/strong>: published since 1996, this review has the distinction of being a joint publication of the two faculties of theology and philosophy.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/la-recherche\/publications\/semiotique-et-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Semiotics and Bible<\/a><\/strong>: This review has been published 4 times a year since 1975. S\u00e9miotique et Bible is the only French-language journal that deals with both the biblical sciences and disciplines related to language sciences.
