The Internal Organisation of UCLy<\/h2>

The organisation and governance of UCLy are governed by the canonical statutes approved by the Holy See (December 2013 statutes) and by the civil statutes of the association AFPICL<\/a> (Association of the Founders and Protectors of the Catholic Institute of Lyon, a non-profit organisation under the French 1901 law, recognised as being of public interest on 24 July 2000).<\/p>

The Rector is responsible for all academic, organisational, and political dimensions of the university. In this role, he is supported by the Rectoral Team, composed of the Vice-Rectors, and by a Deans\u2019 Council bringing together the Faculty Deans, the Vice-Rectors, and the Rector. This council is responsible for strategic reflection and preparing the work of the other statutory councils of UCLy.<\/p>

Gr\u00e9gory WOIMB\u00c9E<\/p>\n

Professor Gr\u00e9gory Woimb\u00e9e has led UCLy since 1 July 2024. He was elected by the General Assembly of the AFPICL<\/a> (which brings together the Chancellor of UCLy, the founding bishops, and the other administrators), following a prior vote by representatives of the University Assembly.<\/p>\n
