The France \u00c9ducation International programme enables you to go abroad on teaching assignments in schools.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The France \u00c9ducation International programme: what does it involve?<\/h2><p>The aim of this programme is to give French students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the <strong>language <\/strong>and <strong>culture <\/strong>of the host country, whilst bringing <strong>the authenticity of their own language<\/strong> and the richness of <strong>their own culture <\/strong>to educational institutions. This exchange experience contributes to the <strong>students\u2019 development and professional growth<\/strong> and represents a <strong>considerable asset in their academic career.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>MISSIONS<\/strong><\/p><p>Each year, around <strong>1,500 language assistants<\/strong> are placed in <strong>schools (primary or secondary) or universities<\/strong> in <strong>35 countries<\/strong> for a <strong>period of 4.5 to 12 months<\/strong>. They assist the French teacher(s) by carrying out one or more of the following tasks: practising spoken French with pupils alongside the teacher, leading conversation classes with pupils, introducing pupils to French civilisation and culture, and taking part in various educational activities at the school...<\/p><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY?<\/strong><\/p><p>As soon as the 2026 application cycle opens, you will be able to:<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Take the online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france-education-international.fr\/partir-letranger\/devenir-assistant-de-langue-francaise-letranger\/votre-candidature\">eligibility test<\/a> (nationality, age, academic background).<\/li>\n\n<li>Apply online; applications for the language assistant exchange programme are completed entirely online via the <a href=\"https:\/\/assistants.france-education-international.fr\/\">ADELE <\/a>platform.<\/li>\n\n<li>Attend an <strong>interview with an assessor<\/strong>, who will evaluate your language proficiency and motivation. The invitation is initiated by the candidate via ADELE.<\/li>\n\n<li>Attach the <strong>required supporting documents<\/strong> and then <strong>submit your application<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><div class=\"wp-block-button js-fade-scroll\">\n\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france-education-international.fr\/document\/tutoriel-candidats-alve-adele-fr\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Find all the steps in the FEI tutorial\" class=\"button primary\">Find all the steps in the FEI tutorial<\/a>\n\n  <\/div><p><strong>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be a <strong>French national or a citizen of the European Union<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Be aged between 20 and 35<\/strong> (as at 31 December of the year of selection for the programme);<\/li>\n\n<li>Have completed <strong>secondary education at a French school, either in France or abroad<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Be enrolled at a French higher education institution<\/strong>, whether attending in person, studying remotely or on an exchange programme (some destinations accept recent graduates and former assistants)<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Hold, at the time of application, the qualification specified in the country profile<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n<li>Have a good knowledge of the host country\u2019s language, <strong>minimum level B1<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>The criteria listed are general and may therefore vary depending on the destination; please be sure to check the relevant country information sheet.<\/p><p><strong>LANGUAGES AND COUNTRIES COVERED<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>German<\/strong>: Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland                                                          <strong>English:<\/strong> United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Kenya               <strong>Chinese:<\/strong> China, Taiwan                                                                                                                                       <strong>Spanish<\/strong>: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain<\/p><p><strong>Other languages<\/strong>: Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Egypt, Belarus, Poland<\/p><p><strong>APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2026 RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN<\/strong><\/p><p>Students wishing to take part in the programme can apply <strong>from 6 January 2026<\/strong>;<strong> applications will remain open until 10 March<\/strong> inclusive for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france-education-international.fr\/partir-letranger\/devenir-assistant-de-langue-francaise-letranger\/pays-concernes?langue=fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most of the destinations on offer<\/a>.
