{"id":432139,"date":"2026-03-13T11:14:02","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T10:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/?page_id=432139"},"modified":"2026-03-13T11:14:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T10:14:05","slug":"digital-contracts-1","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/en\/digital-contracts-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Contracts 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This course is part of a fulll-year module offering a comprehensive introduction to the legal framework governing digital e-commerce and technology contracts.<\/p><p>This first course will focus on the law applying to consumer-facing online transactions in the EU market, looking at e-commerce and the legal issues arising in B2C relationships: identifying B2C transactions, the applicable law and jurisdiction in cross-border transactions, understanding EU consumer protection mechanisms, and assessing the liability of online platforms and digital intermediaries towards consumers.<\/p><p>As e-commerce is inherently cross-border, students will first acquire the tools to identify the applicable law and competent jurisdiction in international disputes. The course then provides a thorough analysis of EU consumer protection law: protection against unfair contract terms, unfair commercial practices, and the rights available to consumers when goods or services fail to conform to their description or are defective.
