It also aims to encourage interaction between academics and people in society, particularly at the level of companies. NHNAI works on collecting, presenting and communicating the results of these different collective explorations, especially to political decision-makers. It aims to take by-products or biomass from industry (perfume, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food processing), and transform them into value-added products. Taking a previous study within the French chemical industry as a starting point, this new<br \/>\nstudy aims to extend this research to other European countries or other industries in France. For this project, metagenomics research is being carried out on gut microbiota to demonstrate its role in health and illnesses. Several research institutes are involved, including INRAE (the project coordinator), ICAN and UCLy from 2011 to 2024. Both a training and research institute, it offers a degree on the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Auvergne Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region. Over its years of research, it has published many scientific works (dictionaries of local patois, collections of songs<br \/>\nand poems, etc.) and it has a well-stocked specialised library available to researchers and students.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The institute\u2019s projects include ALLY (Linguistic and Ethnographic Atlas of Lyon) which has no less than 1,170 maps available online, originally hand-drawn and collated into three volumes. The approach is multi-disciplinary; while the focus is on anthropology, the project also draws on sociology, history, geography, languages, political sciences and law. It looks at Catholic migrants from African, Creole, Asian and Latin American societies in France, living in the cities of Lyon and Paris.
