{"id":58016,"date":"2019-10-11T09:30:04","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T07:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/?post_type=cpt_pole&#038;p=58016"},"modified":"2026-07-22T18:26:40","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T16:26:40","slug":"sciences-health","status":"publish","type":"cpt_pole","link":"https:\/\/www.ucly.fr\/en\/our-poles\/sciences-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Sciences and Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty of Sciences and Health<\/h2><p>The <strong>Faculty of Sciences and Health <\/strong>brings together <strong>ESTBB \u2013 School of Engineering in Biotechnology<\/strong> and <strong>IFTLM \u2013 Institute for Medical Laboratory Science<\/strong>. <\/p><p>It has 15 teaching and research laboratories on the <strong>Saint-Paul Campus<\/strong>, providing students with extensive opportunities for practical, hands-on learning. <\/p><p>Through multidisciplinary education, close partnerships with industry and healthcare organisations, and access to specialised scientific facilities, the Faculty prepares future professionals to address today\u2019s scientific, biomedical and health challenges.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-text-image\">\n  <div class=\"row align-bottom collapse\">\n    <div class=\"column small-12 medium-6 xlarge-5 xxlarge-expand wp-block-text-image-info js-fade-scroll\">\n      <p class=\"wp-block-text-image-title\">ESTBB \u2013 School of Engineering in Biotechnology (Lyon & Annecy)<\/p>\n      <div class=\"wp-block-text-image-intro\"><p>Founded in <strong>1952<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.estbb.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">ESTBB<\/a> trains engineers in the life sciences with expertise in biotechnology, preparing them to address challenges in <strong>human, animal and environmental health<\/strong> within an international context. Accredited by the <strong>French Engineering Accreditation Commission (CTI)<\/strong>, the School is located in Lyon, at the heart of one of Europe&#8217;s leading life sciences and biotechnology ecosystems, and offers highly professional programmes, including work-study pathways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">ESTBB&#8217;s educational approach is guided by the <strong>One Health<\/strong> concept, which recognises the close interconnection between human health, animal health, biodiversity and the environment. This vision underpins both its teaching and research activities.<\/p>\n<p>As part of UCLy, ESTBB benefits from <strong>13 state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories<\/strong> and is developing a dedicated <strong>Biotech Hub<\/strong>.
