•    Recognize and articulate the specificities of the domain and identify its main fields.
•    Earn an essential knowledge regarding family and professional caregivers.
•    Approach aspects of a helping relationship and its psychological features.
•    Reflect on intervention modalities from the point of view of a psychologist working with caregivers.

2. Main fields : old age, disability, chronic illness
3. Family caregivers and professional caregivers
4. Various approaches for the helping relationship : psychodynamic perspective, «Rogerian» concept and «Humanitude» concept
5. Psychological features of the helping relationship
6. Psychological support for the caregivers : separation anxiety, sense of guilt, paradoxical demands, resistance to receiving help
7. The psychologist and the caregivers : current situation and future perspectives
