European students follow the same processes as French students to register in a French higher education institution:
Application for the 1st year of a Bachelor’s (“Licence”)
Apply through the Parcoursup platform.
Application for the 2nd/3rd year of Bachelor’s (“Licence”), Master’s and PhD (“Doctorat”)
Apply directly with the Faculty/Departement offering the program you wish to enter.

A passport is required to enter the French territory. Make sure it expires at least 6 months after the final day of your stay.
You are currently living in a country affected by the Etudes en France procedure:
If you are a resident of one of the countries affected by the Etudes en France procedure, it is mandatory to register with the Espace Campus France in your country to submit your application then obtain your student visa.
You are currently living in a country which is not affected by the Etudes en France procedure:
Application for the 1st year of a Bachelor’s (“Licence”)
Non-European students not affected by the Etudes en France procedure are required to submit a “Demande d’Admission Préalable – DAP” (preliminary request for admission) to enrol in the 1st year of a Bachelor’s degree programme.
Note that at UCLy, not all Bachelor’s programmes will require international students to submit a DAP. Please check with your UCLy coordinator or the International Relations Office.Application for the 2nd/3rd year of Bachelor’s (“Licence”), Master’s and PhD (“Doctorat”)
For registration in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Bachelor’s degree programme or a Master’s degree programme, consult our programme catalogue and Apply directly with the Faculty/Departement offering the program you wish to enter.
Since April 7, 2021, international students can apply for an online visa on France-Visas. The new service is accessible to students applying for a long stay visa living in a country where visa application is outsourced and available online.
